GUARDIAN HOME PROGRAM

Wanting to be apart of our Program ? Please read the information below to see if you qualify.

So what is a Guardian Home Program ?

At BelleMère Goldendoodles, our commitment is to breed the highest quality dogs. To achieve this, like many other reputable breeders, we’ve established a Guardian Home program. In this program, we carefully select a puppy from each litter and place them in a loving family. This not only allows us to introduce exceptional bloodlines into our breeding program but also ensures that each puppy finds a forever home with a caring family that will cherish them for a lifetime.

Responsibilities of a Guardian Home

As a Guarding Home, you will receive a high-quality pick of one of our pups free of charge and become that puppy’s permanent home. BelleMère Goldendoodles will retain all breeding rights of the dog, this will be different depending on the dog’s sex. For Female dogs, this will start at sexual maturity and ends once she has given birth to 4 litters. For male dogs, the contract is typically longer as they are bred as a “when needed” basis. Once the contract is fulfilled, dogs are to be neutered/spayed, and families will retain full rights of the dog.

Guardian Home families are in charge of basic dog expenses including, grooming, dog food, pet-related vet visits, vaccines and deworming. BelleMère Goldendoodles will cover any breeding related expenses while the dog is still under contract.

How can I become a Guardian Home ?

  • To become a guardian home there are many things families have to consider. For homes of female dogs, families have to deal with heat cycles, while keeping her protected from unwelcomed males. Families will have to be comfortable with being away from their dog for an extended amount of time (typically around 2-3 months) while their dog is done raising her pups. Families must be willing to learn when their dog is about to enter a heat cycle, and be willing to communicate and cooperate with us to ensure a successful breeding. For males, families must be willing to be available when their dog is needed, and must keep him away from intact females understanding the importance of unwanted litters.

  • Must live within 90 minutes from one of our locations, and be flexible for pick-ups and drop-offs (if planning to move you must reside within 90 minutes form one of our locations)

  • Must own your own home, and be prepared for home visits

  • Must have a fenced yard, or be willing to keep the dog on-leash when outdoors.

  • Must ensure dog is socialized and provide basic training that is standard for dog ownership

  • Must be well groomed, free of matts and tangles

  • You must be willing to learn how to detect heat cycles and then deliver her to our care within the guidelines agreed upon.

  • Most importantly you are to keep open communication with BelleMère Goldendoodles in regards to all matters concerning the dog.

Understand that we are waiving the price of the dog in exchange of a service. You must be willing to commit to this dog for its lifetime, become their forever home, and a new member to your family. Once the dog has completed its breeding responsibilities, we will have the dog spayed or neutered and ownership will be transferred to you.
